ADMISSION REQ - ABE

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

(i)           Unified Tertiary Matriculations (UTME) Candidates:

UTME candidates are required to obtain “O” Level credits in five subjects which should include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language.

 

(ii)          Direct Entry (DE) Candidates into 200 Level:

In addition to (i) above DE candidates are required to have A-Level/IJMB or approved equivalent pass in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry or a National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering or a cialis en france relevant Engineering discipline at distinction or Upper Credit level from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology plus at least one year post ND experience.

 

(ii)          Direct Entry (DE) Candidates into 300 Level:

In addition to (i) above DE candidates in this category are required to possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agricultural Engineering or a relevant Engineering Discipline, at distinction or Upper Credit level from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

The department operates an academic programme which leads to a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) degree at a duration of five academic sessions for students who gain admission through UME/UTME; four academic sessions for students who come in as Direct Entry with A-Level/IJMB or approved equivalent; and three academic sessions for students who come in as Direct Entry with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agricultural Engineering or a relevant Engineeering Discipline, at distinction or Upper Credit level from a recognized polytechnic or College of Technology.

 

The five-year programme is broken into nine semesters of residence and one industrial attachment. Each semester is usually fiteen teaching weeks long and instruction is by courses quantified into course credits. Lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and projects are organized during each semester and every student in the programme is expected to participate fully since the grading system reflects each aspect.
