Admission Requirement

The admission into B.Eng. Materials and Metallurgical Engineering programme could be achieved through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Entry (UTME), Direct Entry (DE) or Inter/Intra-University Transfer with different requirements as contained below:

UTME Route

Candidates seeking UTME entry mode into 100 level are required to obtain ordinary level credits in nationally recognized examination at not more than two sittings, in five (5) subjects which should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other acceptable subjects. It is also desirable for candidates to pass Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing at credit level. In addition, candidate must attain a satisfactory cut off mark in the entrance examination conducted by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Post-UTME screening may also be conducted by the University management for selection grading of prospective students.

DE Route

Direct entry candidate should possess in addition to O’level and Post-UTME requirements, in either of the following:

(a) ‘A’ level IJMB, JUPEB or approved equivalent pass in Mathematics, (Pure or/and Applied), Physics, and Chemistry with a minimum of 8 points, for admission into 200 level.

(b) ND and HND (Upper Credits) in relevant disciplines with at least one-year post diploma experience for admission into 200 and 300 level, respectively.
